The landmark is the brown colored infoormation sign that goes from Higashihoden toward Shirakawa Dam.

 About 40 minutes one way. Since some of the road is steep, it may be better to climb with multiple people instead of one person.

 When you see the big "Katsura(Japanese judas tree)" in front of you, you will be surprised at its size!

Trunk circumference about 20m, tree height 38m, estimated age 1000 years (the best in Japan)

* Currently, the mountain trail to the large Katsura of Mt. Gongen is impassable due to a landslide.
