Why are cherries in Yamagata so special?
Because of the weather condition and hard work of the farmers,
Yamagata produces more than 70% of cherries in Japan.
You can enjoy cherry picking at more than 400 places in Yamagata from late April to July.
To name some, Satou Nishiki, Beni Shuho, and Beni Sayaka are famous.
Yamagata Beniou has just made its debut in 2022.
The size of the fruit is about 31 mm and they have a sugar concentration of more than 20%.
