Senbonzakura(Thousand of Cherry blossoms) at Mogami River Embankment
Yoshino cherry blossom trees on both banks of the Mogami River swaying in the river breeze!
In 1915, 300 Cherry trees were planted about 2km between "Sakura Ohashi"Bridge and "Nagai Bridge" on the left bank of the Mogami River to commemorate the Emperor Taisho's coronation. It has been very popular. The cherry blossoms on the right bank were planted in 1938.
Even now, there are more than 200 trees, and it is a splendid row of cherry blossom trees over 100 years old.
